Elevating Cleveland

Coast to Coast Equipment: From Scissors to Cranes, LLC was established in 2006 to sell aerial lifts for use in the construction industry. The company started out in the home of the owners, Carolyn Cahlik and Tiffany Tutin. After starting the company in 2006, the Great Recession negatively affected the construction industry causing a sharp drop in the amount of construction equipment being purchased. Despite these challenges, Carolyn and Tiffany saw an opportunity and began renting equipment under a new company, Ohio High Reach, LLC. Today, both businesses are booming thanks to Carolyn and Tiffany’s resolve and strategic investment.
With the help of OSDC and the SBA 504 Loan Program, Coast to Coast Equipment recently purchased 6.5 acres of vacant land for the construction of a new 17,000+ SF building in Cleveland. The company was the first to locate into the Cuyahoga Valley Industrial Center, a 60-acre reclaimed parcel along Interstate 77. OSDC partnered with PNC Bank and the City of Cleveland Department of Economic Development to provide the financing. The new building gives both businesses much-needed room to expand and continue growing.
